Assemblymember Arambula Appointed to High Speed Rail Authority

(Sacramento) - Assemblymember Dr. Joaquin Arambula (D-Fresno) was appointed by Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood) to the Board of Directors of the California High Speed Rail Authority, the state agency charged with the planning, designing, building, and operation of the first high-speed rail system in the nation.

Assemblymember Arambula Honors Victims of Fresno Shootings on Assembly Floor

Sacramento, CA – Today, Assemblymember Dr. Joaquin Arambula (D-Fresno) asked the California State Assembly to adjourn in memory of the victims of this week’s tragic shootings in Fresno.  He spoke about each of the four victims of the horrible events that began last Thursday with the shooting of an unarmed security guard and ended with three more innocent individuals being shot and killed on Tuesday.  Below are the remarks Assemblymember Arambula delivered to the Assembly:

Assemblymember Arambula Statement on Budget Proposal

SACRAMENTO—Assemblymember Dr. Joaquin Arambula (D-Fresno) released the following statement after Gov. Jerry Brown released his initial budget proposal:

“I believe the Governor has laid out a responsible approach to this year’s budget.  Due to the uncertainty we face at the federal level, I think it is prudent to proceed cautiously.  We need to wait and see what the new Trump Administration will propose to important programs like the Affordable Care Act and respond appropriately.  What the Governor has proposed today is a starting point and we will use the next six months to develop a balanced budget.”

Assemblymember Dr. Joaquin Arambula Hosts 1st of Three Roundtable Discussions on Advancing Latino Health

SACRAMENTO Today, Assemblymember Dr. Joaquin Arambula (D-Fresno) held the first of a three-part roundtable discussion titled, “Advancing Latino Health: Are California Medical Schools Meeting the Needs of the Latino Community?”

The discussion focused on issues related to health disparities in the Latino community and the roles that certain barriers play into Latinos’ lack of health insurance including language, religion, and fear of exposing immigration status.
