(Sacramento) - Assemblymember Dr. Joaquin Arambula (D-Fresno) and the California State Assembly marked the start of Ramadan by passing Assembly Concurrent Resolution 233. “Ramadan reminds us that as much as certain individuals and powers may try to create divisions within our communities by fostering fear and hatred for one another, our core values of humanity, peace, equity and justice are the same regardless of our faith, and that our differences only make us stronger as a state, as a nation, and as a people,” Assemblymember Arambula said. “I rise today to wish our Muslim community a very Happy Ramadan – may this be a month filled with peace and blessings for everyone, and may you have a celebratory Eid to come.” To hear the entire speech, watch this Assembly Access video.
