(Sacramento) – It’s called Asian citrus psyllid. It carries a bacterial disease called Huanglongbing or HLB, and it’s posing a real threat to the California citrus industry. Exterminating that threat will require more funding so Assemblymember Doctor Joaquin Arambula (D-Fresno) and the State Assembly have passed SB 243. “This bill makes a one-time appropriation from the Citrus Disease Management Account to CDFA so that existing reserve funds may be used immediately to fight citrus pests and diseases,” said Assemblymember Arambula.
