(Sacramento) - Assemblymember Dr. Joaquin Arambula (D-Fresno) went before the Assembly Budget Subcommittee on Public Safety and requested funding for local public safety facilities in Fresno County. He’s asking the state to provide nearly $10 million to help make desperately needed improvements to local police departments in the cities of Firebaugh, Parlier, Orange Cove, and Selma. “Our rural communities have struggled for a long time with their economic base to support their police departments and need investments from the state to make sure they have the infrastructure to meet our communities needs,” Assemblymember Arambula told the Committee. The last two state budgets have included funding for improvements to local public safety buildings in communities that have outdated facilities.
