FRIANT – Assemblymember Dr. Joaquin Arambula (D-Fresno) joined leaders from all around the Central Valley at Friant Dam for the Temperance Flat Project Partnership signing ceremony.

Representatives of the San Joaquin Valley Water Infrastructure Authority and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in order to coordinate and complete feasibility studies of the proposed Temperance Flat Dam and Reservoir project. The MOU will help facilitate the completion of studies necessary to compete for the State of California Proposition 1 funding application for water storage projects.

“As a representative of the Central Valley, I am honored to be a passionate advocate for the Temperance Flat project and stand with the San Joaquin Valley Water Infrastructure Authority. I thank the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation for their partnership. This type of collaboration is exactly what needs to be done to ensure that the best proposal for Temperance Flat dam is presented,” Assemblymember Arambula said. The news conference will include federal, state, county and local elected officials, and agricultural, water, and business leaders.
