FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Kicking your yard's addiction to water is getting a lot easier.
In northwest Fresno Saturday, the lawn disappeared at a home and got replaced by drought resistant landscaping.
Assembly member Joaquin Arambula helped a crew install big rocks, mulch and plants like purple sage that look pretty, but don't need a lot of water to survive.
"Right now, the drought isn't over yet and you'll still be reliant on whatever the city decides on how many days a week you can water," Water Resources engineer Michael McGinnis said. "You know, last fall it got down to one day a week you were allowed to water."
