Fresno’s Radio Bilingüe gets funding to improve national broadcast operations

FRESNO, Calif. – Assemblymember Dr. Joaquin Arambula presented a $2 million check to Spanish radio news station Radio Bilingüe to expand its Fresno headquarters.

Arambula, who represents District 31, secured the grant from the State General Funds in this year’s state budget. At a press conference, he called it “an investment.”

FRESNO – Assemblymember Dr. Joaquin Arambula (D-Fresno) on Wednesday, November 8, will present a $2 million check to Radio Bilingüe to support the historic Fresno-based public radio network’s plans for a much- needed new facility.

The check presentation and news conference will begin at 9:00 a.m. at Radio Bilingüe, 5005 E. Belmont Ave. in Fresno 93727.

Water Safety Bill named after Edison High School Senior who drowned

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Fresno Unified School District leaders and family and friends of Neng Thao, an 18-year-old who died by drowning in 2017, gathered on Friday to celebrate the signing of bill AB 1445, the Neng Thao Drowning Prevention Bill. 

Thao drowned and was found in the San Joaquin River. He was submerged in 10 feet of water after being swept away by the fast current of the river, First Responders said.
